Calcite is a calcium carbonate mineral that occurs in masses and rhombohedral forms, whose name comes from Greek "calix" meaning "lime." It is also called "limespar" as it is often found in sedimentary rock, such as limestone. It has been used for everything from weaponry to agricultural soil treatments to pigment for paint.
Blue Calcite derives its color from trace amounts of oxidized copper within the crystal structure.

With its soothing blue color and calcite "bestie" energy, Blue Calcite is one of the most calming and serene crystals we can think of. It is a perfect crystal to keep on the workdesk of a stressful job or the bedside table for those whose busy mind will not let them rest.
