Desert Rose Magic Sacks

Desert Rose is a type of gypsum, the same soft sulfate mineral as selenite and satin spar, that forms in arid, sandy conditions. Its unique rose-like shape comes from the formation of gypsum crystals as blades in which sand is embedded. Desert Rose is found all over the world, but particularly in the United States in parts of Oklahoma, in the Sahara Desert of Morocco, and Southwest Tunisia surrounding the salt lake there. It is also fairly common in Asia in areas such as Qatar and Saudi Arabia and in Europe, where it is primarily found in Spain.
Although smaller Desert Rose crystals, measuring between .5"-1" are fairly common, clusters and larger crystals are much more rare. The largest single crystal recorded was found in Oklahoma, measuring 17" x 10" and weighing in at 125 pounds. "Rose Rock," another moniker of Desert Rose, is the official state stone of Oklahoma.

In Native American legend, Desert Rose was carved by warriors from the spirit world, sent to protect and direct the land that they loved during their lifetimes. It comes as no surprise that this is a crystal that is deeply connected to the land, with the grounding properties that come with that connection. They are spiritual road maps, breaking confusion, and pointing toward the higher self and the most enlightened path in a way that brings about calm and confidence. In addition, it is said to direct transmissions to and from the spiritual realm, and it has been used in this way by shamans, witches, and others since ancient times.
Like other forms of selenite, Desert Rose also holds beautiful cleansing properties for other crystals and energies around them.
