Obsidian is a naturally-occurring glass formed from rapidly cooling lava from volcanic activity millions of years in the past. Gold Sheen Obsidian is
named for the beautiful gold metallic coloring that shows up as the stone is turned in the light. The golden color is caused by gas and metal impurities that were trapped near the surface inside the magma as it cooled. Gold Sheen Obsidian is primarily found in Mexico and the western United States, but it can be found in smaller amounts all around the world.

Gold Sheen Obsidian is a shadow work stone, bringing to light the things that need to be seen within ourselves and then helping us with the protective energy that obsidian is known for to safely make changes that are necessary for us to live within our greatest good.
