This beautiful golden Mookaite tower stands 6.8" tall and weighs almost 1.5 lbs! It features natural red ribbons, dendrites, and fascinating sediment pockets!

*This piece is an excellent deal due to those fascinating sediment pockets, especially located near the bottom.  We love the colors and textures of these pockets, and they do not affect the integrity of the tower or its ability to stand. Be sure to view all of the pictures and the video.

History | Science

Mookaite, also called Mookaite Jasper, is known for its vibrant displays of red, yellow, and purple. It is formed on an ancient marine shelf from the microscopic remains of radiolarians, single-celled free-floating eukaryotes with tiny silica-based skeletons- technically making it a fossil! In fact, Mookaite is quite often "fossilferous" which means it contains fossils of other ancient marine life. It is believed it was formed during the Cretaceous Period, 145-66 million years ago.
Mookaite is found only in the Windalia Radiolarite area of Western Australia

Metaphysical Properties

Jasper in all of its forms is a source of grounding and stabilization, especially during times of change and transition. And as mookaite is technically a fossil, it brings with it the wisdom for difficult decisions and the support needed for growth.

Photography

Although we always strive to provide clear, accurate images of our crystals and other products, we photograph under professional lighting, which is meant to mimic sunlight. If you get your crystal and think it looks a little different under low or artificial light, try checking it out again in sunlight!

Our crystals are one-of-a-kind art, created by nature.

No two pieces are the same, and there is no such thing as "perfection" in nature.

When it comes to our hand-carved items, remember that artists work with and around imperfections, druzy pockets, and other natural variations to bring each carving out of a piece of natural stone.

We consider these imperfections to be one of the most wonderful parts of crystal collecting, and we invite you to embrace each carving's uniqueness!

We will always try to portray each piece honestly, so be sure to look closely at our images and videos to ensure you know what to expect.
