Hand-carved Sea Jasper T-Rex A

Sea Jasper was originally called "Ocean Jasper," a trademarked name that now only refers to the original mine in Madagascar where this beautiful stone was found. All material outside of that mine is referred to as "Sea Jasper."
Although it has the beautiful colors and opaqueness of jasper, Sea Jasper is actually a rhyolite, an igneous rock that forms when high-silica lava quickly cools and solidifies.

There is a reason why when the term "Ocean Jasper" was trademarked, the material from outside of the original mine was instead referred to as "Sea Jasper." It is impossible to separate this passionate, yet nurturing stone from its name. Much like the ocean, Sea Jasper knows times of transformative storms as well as times of gentle joy, and it is here to lend you whichever of these energies is needed.

Although we always strive to provide clear, accurate images of our crystals and other products, we photograph under professional lighting, which is meant to mimic sunlight. If you get your crystal and think it looks a little different under low or artificial light, try checking it out again in sunlight!

When it comes to our hand-carved items, remember that artists work with and around imperfections, druzy pockets, and other natural variations to bring each carving out of a piece of natural stone.
