Raven's Wing Calcite Specimen 3

Dog Tooth calcite gets its well-known scalenohedral crystal formation resembling dogs’ teeth due to growing in caves or geode cavities where the crystals have open space to form.
Chocolate Calcite is a fairly rare variety of calcite with earthy brown colors often resembling chocolate, caused by inclusions and pressure during the mineral's formation.
The sugary crystallization and shiny coating that these crystals have are caused by layers of clear calcite forming over the chocolate calcite crystals.

This particular formation of Chocolate Calcite AKA Raven's Wing Calcite is found in Mexico.

Besides its color and shape, "Raven's Wing Calcite" is a particularly fitting name for this stone, as Ravens are known as symbols of prophesy, insight, transformation, and intelligence, all qualities that are linked to dogtooth calcite, as well. Ravens are birds that thrive in quiet and stillness, and the darker color of chocolate calcite adds an extra element of grounding and tranquility.
Whereas we generally say that calcite gives "bestie" vibes, we would say that Raven's Wing Calcite gives "witch's familiar" vibes.
