Hand-carved Rhodonite Alien Head

Rhodonite is manganese silicate mineral found in shades from pale pink to deep red, usually with black or brown veining. The name comes from the Ancient Greek "rhodos" meaning "rosy." Rhodonite was originally unearthed in the 1790s in the Ural Mountains of Russia, but since then, it has been discovered in Madagascar, South Africa, Australia, Brazil, India, Sweden, and even in Canada and the USA.

Pink crystals are almost always symbolic of love. Rhodonite, with its dark veining, provides a love that is powerful while still grounded- especially when the love that is needed is love for oneself, as rhodonite, with its contrasting pinks and blacks, has an element of quirkiness. It accepts you just as you are and insists you do the same! (One of the many reasons we LOVE that this particular Rhodonite piece is an alien!)
For all of these reasons, rhodonite is particularly soothing to wounded hearts.
