Sahara Desert Picture Jasper Slabs

Sahara Desert Jasper is a rare form of Picture Jasper discovered in Eastern Egypt in the early 2000s, amidst the discovery of an ancient petrified forest. It likely formed due to molten mudflows 35-45 million years ago. It has since been found on the other side of the Sahara Desert in Morocco, as well. As with other varieties of picture jasper, Sahara Desert Jasper is known for its patterns resembling a desert landscape with dendrites that resemble foliage. Its sunset colors and dense pattern and coloration make it a truly special find!

Picture Jasper in general has only been on our radar since the 1960s, and this particular form, with its unique sunset colors, was discovered in the early 2000s. Therefore, we do not have any ancient sources to compare to. But what we do know well is the upbeat, connective, nurturing energy of all jasper. Whether the patterns and colors forming creates the energy or vice versa, picture jasper is a good example of how the physical features of a stone align with its energy, encouraging a personal connection to the natural world that only you can see and understand. Others may never see the exact images you see in your own Picture Jasper, but this piece has found itself in your hands, encouraging a connection that you personally resonate with. And through this connection is found deep wisdom and healing of the spirit.
