Shungite Pyramid

Shungite is a deep black mineraloid named for a deposit found in Shunga Village, Russia in 1879. The term "shungite" was originally used to describe a mineraloid with more than 98% carbon, but it is now used to describe a shungite-bearing rock. Shungite is still primarily found in Russia, but it has also been found in Austria, India, Democratic Republic of Congo, and Kazakhstan. Although its makeup is still being studied, one particualrly detailed scientific study describes Shungite as a fossilised organic material formed from sediments that date back to the Precambrian period.
Though shungite was first described in the late 1800s, Shungite has been used as a folk medical treatment since ancient times due to its apparent abilities as an antimicrobial and water purifier. After Czar Alexander the Great was told by residents around Shunga Village to bathe in water from an outcropping of shungite, he felt so refreshed that he commissioned Russia's first spa to take advantage of Shungite's water purification qualities. In modern times, WebMD places Shungite stones in the "complementary therapy" category, mentioning studies where Shungite seemed to lower inflammation in radiation-exposed mice as well as its long-known antimicrobial uses.

As a stone with such a long history of use in folk medicine and the subject of far more modern scientific studies, it's unsurprising that Shungite is hailed as an incredibly powerful stone of purification, grounding, and protection.
Shungite is also technically a fossil, a carbon mineral created by metamorphosed fossil fuels. So with that, it carries the wisdom and memory of organic material from the Precambrian period, early in the Earth's history.
Shungite undoubtedly has an ancient energy and is especially helpful for those in need of Root Chakra grounding. It is a great stone to keep near you, especially if you deal with a lot of negativity in the home or workplace.
