Smokey Quartz Sphere A

The color of smoky quartz is produced when natural radiation, emitted from the surrounding rock, activates color centers around aluminum inclusions within the crystalline quartz. It ranges in color from pale brown to almost opaque black. Smokey Quartz is found in many places around the world and has been used for religious, aesthetic, and even practical reasons for centuries. It is a recurring feature in Celtic lore, especially in connection with the Druids, and is the national gem of Scotland. In 12th Century China, panes of smokey quartz were worn across the eyes, producing an effect much like the sunglasses we wear today!

Smoky Quartz is a powerful protector, capturing the amplification qualities of clear quartz while also providing a grounding force, dispelling negative energy, and detoxing the energy field, as many dark stones do.
