Tiger's Eye Carved Cicada Necklace

Tiger's Eye gets its silky, lustrous appearance from the parallel intergrowth of quartz crystals and (mostly) the prism-like structure of iron ore liminite.
Although the first mention of Tiger's Eye by mineralogists in modern times was in the early 1800s, it has been popular since ancient times due to its association with tigers as well as the association of its golden bands with the sun.

Tiger's eye has been regarded since ancient times as a protective, stabilizing force, due to its association with the large cat whose eyes it resembles. In addition to protection from evil, amulets carved from tiger's eye are said to imbue the wearer with the self-confidence, strength, and power of a tiger, allowing them to embrace their inner strength.
