Venus - Large, Hand-carved Howlite Goddess Body

Howlite is a borate mineral named for Henry How, the scientist who first discovered it in a gypsum quarry in Nova Scotia, Canada in 1868.
Because it is porous but hardy and easy to work with, Howlite is often dyed and sold as Turquoise, a mineral that is much softer and far more brittle. Its resemblance to Turquoise
It has little in common with Turquoise outside of its veining, but this similarity has caused it to be commonly known as "White Turquoise" or "White Buffalo Turquoise"

Howlite is known for its soothing energy that quiets the mind and calms the spirit. It is an excellent choice for bedside table or a meditation space, especially for those who suffer from lack of sleep due to anxiety and a racing mind.
